Located on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, Taghazout has earned its reputation as the country’s premier surf destination. With consistent waves, a laid-back atmosphere, and sweeping ocean views, it draws surfers from around the world. I traveled to Taghazout alone as a woman and felt completely safe—comfortable enough to walk around on my own, day or night. During my recent visit, I stayed at Hashpoint Surf Camp, a beachfront property that offers a well-rounded and thoughtfully curated surf experience.

A Prime Location for Surf
Hashpoint Surf Camp is situated within walking distance of several of the region’s best-known surf spots, including Hash Point, Anchor Point, and Panoramas. Each day, the camp’s instructors choose the best location based on conditions, making it easy to focus on progression and enjoyment without the hassle of planning logistics.

The surf instruction is well-structured, with daily lessons tailored to your skill level. All necessary equipment—surfboard, wetsuit, and leash—is included, and the coaches provide detailed feedback both in the water and through optional video analysis.
Accommodation With a Community Feel
The accommodation at Hashpoint is hostel-style but elevated, with a mix of shared and private rooms designed in a clean, modern Moroccan aesthetic. My room featured an ocean-facing balcony—close enough to hear the waves breaking below.
What sets this camp apart is its strong sense of community. Guests often surf together during the day and gather over meals in the evening, creating a relaxed and social environment that’s especially welcoming for solo travelers and small groups.
Meals & Amenities
Packages at Hashpoint include three meals per day, served in a communal setting. The food is varied and consistently high-quality, with a focus on local dishes made from fresh ingredients. Themed nights, such as a weekly barbecue, add variety to the experience.

Other inclusions that streamline the experience:
- Free airport transfer from Agadir (for stays of 7 nights or more)
- Daily surf theory sessions
- Optional yoga classes
- Access to the rooftop lounge and communal kitchen
Why Hashpoint Stands Out
Breakfast and dinner are typically served on the rooftop terrace, offering panoramic views over the bay—a highlight of each day, especially at sunset.

There are many surf camps in and around Taghazout, but Hashpoint stands out for its combination of professional surf instruction, quality accommodation, and thoughtful hospitality. The staff are experienced and attentive, the facilities are well-maintained, and the beachfront location provides immediate access to both the surf and the rhythm of the village.
Whether you’re new to surfing or returning to Morocco for another season, Hashpoint Surf Camp offers a dependable, enjoyable, and well-organized way to experience the best of Taghazout.
